I’m interested in what happens
after the diagram ends.

Joel Albon is a hands-on R&D systems builder based in Southern Illinois. The work at Albon Tech R&D moves between infrastructure, automation, applied AI, fabrication, and the physical systems those things have to live in.

THE SHORT VERSION

Build it close enough to reality that the weak spots show.

Joel’s path includes field technical work, independent IT support, and years of solving practical problems where equipment, networks, people, and changing conditions all matter at once. That experience now feeds a broader R&D practice: make an idea concrete, find the failure modes, and keep what proves useful.

Albon Tech R&D is not built around a single narrow discipline. It is a working space for infrastructure, product ideas, self-hosted systems, automation, AI experiments, networking, sensors, and physical prototypes.

WORKING METHOD

01

Start with the constraint

What actually has to work, for whom, and under what conditions?

02

Make a testable version

Prototype enough of the system to expose the assumptions instead of debating them forever.

03

Keep the evidence

Document the useful result, the failure, and the next question so the work compounds.
